The Women Activities & Social Services Association (WASSA) celebrated its 17th years of existence in Afghanistan in 31st July 2019. In this intriguing gathering, the Founder/Chairperson of WASSA, Dr. Nilofar Sakhi, sent his congratulatory messages to the leadership and all the staff of the organization and had a brief speech on WASSA’s strategic goals for the next five years.
Later, the Executive Director of the WASSA, Mr. Said Wase Sayedi, explained the overall achievement of WASSA for the years 2018/19. Subsequently, Mr. Hamidullah Nasibi described program and project achievements during the mentioned years for all staff.
And after all, Mr. Ghulam Sakhi Khatibi, WASSA’s current board member, the one who stood behind all these achievements since the very beginning days, spoke about the overall challenges, threats and the sacrifices where founder/chairperson and some board members had during the first five years of establishment. All those dreams that have come true “he said”

At the end of the ceremony, WASSA management team and staff congratulated Dr. Nilofar Sakhi for her successful achievement of Doctoral Degree from George Mason University on a “public policy” course and wished her successful life ahead with more concentration on women empowerment in Afghanistan.
