What We Do
Since its establishment in 2002, the Women’s Activities and Social Services Association (WASSA) has worked to empower women and communities, deliver humanitarian assistance, and promote equal access to essential services across Afghanistan.
WASSA’s integrated approach combines protection, empowerment, and resilience to ensure that women, men, and children—particularly the most vulnerable—live in dignity, equality, and safety.
To make our areas of work clearer and more accessible to partners, WASSA’s programs are now organized under three strategic pillars.
Delivering lifesaving, inclusive, and sustainable services that promote wellbeing, safety, and learning for all—especially women and children.
2. Economic Opportunities and Resilient Livelihoods
Empowering women and youth through skills development, entrepreneurship, financial access, and sustainable livelihood initiatives for self-reliance and resilience.
3. Humanitarian Assistance and Emergency Response
Responding swiftly to crises with lifesaving aid—cash, food, NFIs, health, WASH, and protection—to ensure affected families survive and recover with dignity.
